Common questions about a career in Recruitment

2 of 15 in our We Love Recruitment Series

Naturally, the more you learn about a career in recruitment, the more questions you will have, questions like:

  • What is a career in recruitment like?

  • Is recruitment a good career choice?

  • Is it stressful to be a recruiter?

  • Is it difficult to get a job in recruitment?

  • Do you get paid well in recruitment?

  • Do recruiters make good money in the UK (or where you live)?

  • Is it fun to be a recruiter?

  • What is a typical day like for a recruiter?

  • Why do recruiters get burnt out?

  • What personality does a recruiter need?

All good questions and the answers to most of them are very simple. They're very simple because they come down to you, your conviction and your motivation. Your conviction that recruitment is a career you are going to make a success of; and your motivation throughout all the challenges it will throw at you!

If you are genuinely motivated by your own life goals and channel that motivation to consistently develop your skills in recruitment, you will rise to the challenges your agency and your clients give you. If your agency is also a thoughtful, smart and realistic one then a career in recruitment is a brilliant choice. Succeeding in recruitment will earn you people's appreciation and respect, will earn you good money (£50k+++ reliably within a year or two) and even admiration, the admiration of your colleagues and the admiration of the people whose careers you inevitably help shape.
